Project
Wij zijn beiden gefascineerd door het thema “donker en licht “ en de contrasten die het oproept. Bij de reis van donker naar het licht gaat het zowel om een persoonlijke als ook een collectieve reis die we als mensheid doormaken.
Dit project en deze website zijn bedoeld als een organisch platform waarin we deze reis gaan beschrijven, gaan kleuren, filmen, fotograferen en vastleggen in geluid. Een levende expositie dus!
Het logo voor ons project is geïnspireerd op de mythische Ouroboros, een slang die in zijn eigen staart bijt! Dit beeld verwijst naar de oude tijden waarin de mythen over monsters en goden nog heel levend ervaren werden door de mensen van die tijd. De Ouroboros is een van de oudste mythische symbolen in de wereld en werd veelvuldig gebruikt door de alchemisten in de donkere Middeleeuwen. Ook in de Azteekse, Indiase en Chinese mythologie heeft de slang die in zijn eigen staart bijt een belangrijke rol gespeeld in het denken over de eeuwige cirkel van het leven. Ze verwijst naar de cyclische aard van de natuur, het eeuwige terugkeren van de seizoenen en het dagelijkse ritme van nacht en dag.
In sommige afbeeldingen is de slang half licht gekleurd (of wit) en half donker gekleurd (of zwart). Dit stelt dan de twee-eenheid van de dingen voor, zoals het Yin – Yan principe.
Ook de Noord-Europese cultuur kent een dergelijke slang die daar bekend is geworden onder de naam Jörmungandr. Hierop is onze projectnaam dus geïnspireerd.
We gaan ons bewegen van het duister naar het licht en van deze reis een artistiek verslag maken in de vorm van beelden, geluid en gedachten!

We are both fascinated by the theme "dark and light" and the contrasts it evokes. The journey from dark to light is both a personal and a collective journey that we as humanity experience.
This project and this website are intended as an organic platform in which we will describe this journey, color, film, photograph and record in sound. So much like a living exhibition!
The logo for our project is inspired by the mythical Ouroboros, a snake that bites its own tail! This image refers to the ancient times in which the myths about monsters and gods were still experienced alive by the people of that time. The Ouroboros is one of the oldest mythical symbols in the world and was used extensively by alchemists in the dark Middle Ages. Also in Aztec, Indian and Chinese mythology, the snake that bites its own tail has played an important role in thinking about the eternal circle of life. It refers to the cyclic nature of nature, the eternal return of the seasons and the daily rhythm of night and day.
In some images the snake is half light colored (or white) and half dark colored (or black). This then represents the duality of things, such as the Yin - Yan principle.
Northern European culture also has such a snake that has become known there under the name of Jörmungandr. Our project name.
We will move from the dark to the light and make an artistic report of this journey by means of images, sound and thoughts!
